YOUR NAIL DASH GUIDE💅🏼
There are a few factors that play into getting a longer wear time with your press on nails.
You need three key components for press-ons to last –
- Proper Sizing
- Proper Nail Prep
- Plenty of Glue
It’s important to note that NOT all women have the same skin type & nail beds. You might need more glue or extra dehydration if you’re prone to oilier skin. These tips will help guide you through that process.
Do’s and Don’t When Sizing Your Nail Dashes
NAIL PREP+ APPLICATION
In the graphic below you will find a step by step guide on how I prep and apply my press on nails. For a visual I also have included a video tutorial 🩷

TOP 10 TIPS
- Each dash has a number on the under side of the dash. The number goes at the TIP for application (not at the cuticle).
- When you size your dashes, be sure to go TRUE TO SIZE. You don’t need to leave a gap around your nail bed like with strips. If you size too big, the dashes will get air bubbles underneath and likely pop off.
- Push back your cuticles back so you have a completely clean even surface for your dash to adhere too.
- Lightly BUFF the nail surface with the pink side of the file. You want the entire surface to be cloudy white – this ensures the dash has something to hold onto.
- Wipe nail surface with an alcohol wipe. This will remove any excess oils that we don’t want trapped under there.
- I highly recommend using a Nail Dehydrator for longer wear. This will help to fully dry out your nailbeds & ensure a longer wear time.
- I recommend starting with your pinkies and work towards the thumb.
- Spread glue around your nail (like all around it) then do the same to the dash. I like applying about 3 brush strokes worth of glue to get a strong hold. THE GLUE GOES ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE NUMBER.
- Wait a few seconds.. then just press on like the video. Use a 45 degree angle like the graphic shows. The dash is made to be tapered at the cuticle, so be sure to slide it up near/a little under the cuticle. You don’t have to leave a space like when you use strips.
- Clean any glue residue with Cuticle Oil while the glue mess is still wet. Wipe away with a paper towel.
- File or clip dash to preferred length/shape. And VOILA! Enjoy your long lasting DIY Mani!!
