So Easy!! Enjoy!
Start with a chain of 3:
Yarn over, insert hook into first chain, and into back loop of that first chain.
Yarn over and pull through those 2 loops. (3 loops on hook) Yarn over, pull through 1 loop. (3 loops on hook)
Yarn over pull through 2 loops. (2 loops on hook) Yarn over, pull through last 2 loops
This completes your first Chain 1 and first Double Crochet
Second Foundation Double Crochet
Yarn over, insert hook into first foundation chain, making sure you pick up the loop behind it. (4 loops on hook)
Yarn over, pull through 2 loops. (3 loops on hook) Yarn over pull through 1 loop. (3 loops on hook) Yarn over pull through 2
Yarn over, pull through last 2 loops.
Continue on until you have reached your total number of double crochets in your Row 2 Plus 1 on instructions you are following.
For each foundation you are:
Yarn over, pull up 2 loops, pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through 1 loop. (Creates chain)
Yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through 2 loops. (Creates double crochet)
So when you are ready to start your 2nd row of instruction, you will turn your work so that the chains are on the bottom and you are working into the first double crochet
Hope this helps! Grab the .pdf file here

I used a 3.5mm hook, approx. 70 yards of baby yarn.
Instead of turning and chaining, I use the Stack Single Crochet.

Here is what I’m working on!
I’m using a 5mm hook and the Baby Bee brand yarn.
Notes: Instead of chaining turns, I use the stack single crochet. It leaves a nice smooth edge,
OR you can turn and chain two.
Tutorial on the Stack Single Crochet
Mine measures 36” across
